The magazine cover is a needlepoint of a nude woman, who leans forward in profile. She appears concentrated. Superimposed on the image is the text "Off the Coast" "Summer 2018" in the top right corner. At the bottom is the issue's title, Dazzling Chromatic.  The image appears similar to a heat map in that the colors (white, red, orange, yellow, blue, black) are spaced similarly to how a heat map shows gradations in the hotter and cooler parts of a body. However, the lightest colors appear to represent the light that shines on the woman’s face and chest.
